Want to help more?
Walk Against Warming is a big event to organise. There’s lots to do so why not get involved? We can’t do it without people like you!
Over the last 5 years hundreds of people have volunteered their time to make Walk Against Warming the best event it can be. Volunteering can take up as little as an hour of your time... so contributing to the success of the Walk is really easy, just select which area you’re interested in and get in touch.
Spread the word and get everyone you know to RSVP.
Word of mouth is a key way Walk Against Warming is promoted. Tell your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues – everyone you know - and get them to RSVP.
Distribute flyers and posters.
We need flyers and posters in cafes, community notice boards, local libraries, schools, sports clubs, community groups, maternal health centres, kinders, childcare centres – you name it, we need it covered! Register your name, contact details plus how many flyers/posters you can distribute and in what area by emailing Trier on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Spread the word over the internet.
If you have a website, email list, newsletter, facebook page, etc. then please use that to spread the word. Ensure you mention our website waw.org.au so people can access further information. More details for your group's webmaster can be found here .
Get YOUR school to Walk Against Warming
If you’re a student why not become a Walk Against Warming Ambassador for your school? Make it your job to get your school to support the Walk, and get as many of your fellow students as possible to come along. We can organise someone to come and talk to your school assembly about climate change and the Walk, plus send you flyers and posters to distribute around the school. Register your interest by emailing your name and school to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Volunteer to be one of our 300 Marshalls
Being a Walk Against Warming Marshall is fun and rewarding. Check out more information here.
Human Signs can be a lot of fun. The photos below were taken at our last Human Sign, at St.Kilda Beach, in May 2009, when 5,000 people turned up. We think we can do much better this time. Click on any image to open a high resolution version.
