Marshalls assemble before the 2007 Human Sign on Sandringham Beach.

The 2009 WALK Against Warming and Human SIGN needs 237 marshalls. So far we have 140. So we need 97 more, with under two weeks to go.
Being a marshall is easy, lots of fun, and invariably a memorable experience.
“20 Walk Marshalls” will assist in directing the walkers during the WALK phase.
“217 Sign Marshalls” will help to form the outline of the letters at the HUMAN SIGN phase.
You would need to arrive at 11 AM on the day. One hour ahead of the general public. So one extra hour of your time needed.
In addition, ideally Marshalls should also attend our single training session: at 6pm on Wednesday 2 December at Environment Victoria's office at 60 Leicester Street, Carlton.
The WALK begins at Noon on Saturday 12 December at the State Library, Swanston Street. As World Leaders are gathering to discuss what action they are prepared to take on climate change, 20,000+ people will be walking down Swanston Street “Walk Marshalls” will assist the Police to make sure the parade proceeds smoothly.
When the walkers arrive at Princes Bridge, “Sign Marshalls” will have already formed the outline of the Human Sign, which the walkers will fill by standing inside the outline.
Photos will be taken from a blimp, a light plane, and from vantage points in surrounding buildings. Video will be shot from TV News helicopters as occurred at each of our previous Human Signs, in 2007 (Sandringham Beach), 2008 (Alexandra Gardens) and in May 2009 (St.Kilda Beach).
Images will be transmitted to Newspaper and TV Networks around the world.
Even Barack Obama, who will be arriving at the Copenhagen Conference that day, will see a photo of the Sign, and will be inspired to fulfil his election promise of "YES WE CAN".
