Your company can support this year’s Walk Against Warming…here’s how.

Walk Against Warming is Australia’s biggest day of community action on climate change, and this year needs to be as big as ever. As World Leaders are gathering in Copenhagen to decide how much they’re prepared to do to deal with the climate crisis, we’ll be sending them a message they can’t ignore.

We need to gather tens of thousands of people to this year’s Walk Against Warming and Human Sign in order to show our world leaders that Australians want them to take strong action for a safe climate.

Does your company want to support this year’s Walk Against Warming? Great! Welcome aboard!

There are lots of things your company can do to help build this year’s Melbourne Walk Against Warming and human sign event, and make sure world leaders hear the call of Australians for a safe climate.

Below is a list of activities that your company might like to undertake to support this year’s Walk Against Warming, help to promote the event, and ensure your staff, clients and supporters come along on the day. You can do one or all four – it’s easy and up to you.

  1. Support the Walk Against Warming on your website – put a link to the Walk on the front page of your website. We can send you text, and a button to load that will link through to the Walk site at www.waw.org.au
     
  2. Email all staff – Send an email about the Walk to all staff and urging them to RSVP at www.waw.org.au. We can supply you with the copy for this email. You could also let them know we’re looking for hundreds of volunteers on the day, and we’d love them to sign up.
     
  3. Include a notice in your newsletter to your members/clients – Let your members and clients know about the Walk by including a promo in your newsletters. We can send you text and images.
     
  4. Come on the day!!! – Make sure you, your family, friends, and colleagues come along on the day. If you RSVP to www.waw.org.au, we’ll send you a reminder so that you don’t forget. Why not encourage a group from your company to attend together? You’re welcome to bring banners, and show that your organisation supports a safe climate.
